Summary
Come and join our Palliative Care Consultancy Team at Western Health, working as a Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) across the campuses of Sunshine, Footscray and Williamstown Hospitals.
Flexible hours (part- or full-time) are available. The service operates between 8.00am to 4.30pm, Monday – Friday.
The CNC works autonomously and as part of the Consult Team, providing Palliative Care expertise, education, advice and support to patients, carers and health professionals across all campuses. The team liaises closely with community agencies to facilitate seamless transfer of care through effective communication, timely referrals and smooth transition into the home or residential care.
Selection Criteria
To be successful in this role, you will have:

- High levels of clinical competence, skills and knowledge to deliver best outcomes for patients.
- Post graduate certificate in Palliative Care or relevant field or working towards/have a Masters in Nursing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Adaptability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in problem-solving, effective prioritisation and workload management.
- Commitment to continuous quality improvement and evidence-based practice.
- Ability to inspire, influence, and deliver clear messages to help ensure cohesive teamwork and high standards of care.
Essential Criteria
- Registration as a Registered Nurse in Australia.
- Minimum of 5 years post registration experience within acute care settings.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in relevant specialist area.
- Computer literacy skills.
- Current drivers licence.
