The Community Engagement Coordinator plays a crucial role in both enhancing Palliative Care South East's community presence and reputation in the community and oversees the PCSE volunteer program. They work to coordinate, evaluate, and improve the volunteer program, aiming to build strong relationships and partnerships within the community to ensure seamless access to palliative care services for clients and their carers.
Additionally, the Community Engagement Coordinator plays a key role in elevating the profile of Palliative Care South East through community fundraising and events, focusing on project managing the development of appropriate organisational fundraising strategies and delivering on goals. They collaborate with internal & external stakeholders to build enduring partnerships auspiced by the strategic directions. They develop impactful communications and create content for various communication channels, including web, digital/multimedia, and brand management
Selection Criteria
Requirements:
- Previous experience in coordinating a program of events or team and operational management
- Demonstrated experience in program development, implementation and review and delivery
- Experience in recruitment and selection techniques and the ability to assess performance and provide constructive feedback and development of individuals
- Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to develop long term collaborative relationships and enduring partnerships with stakeholders
- Ability to work comfortably with stakeholders from a variety of settings including clients, carers/families, and external agencies and businesses
- Ability to develop and foster collaborative working arrangements and build strategic alliances with relevant services and organisations to support PCSE clients and their carers and staff.
- Proven experience in project management and working with external providers to coordinate community-based fundraising activities and logistics, event co-ordination and delivery.
- Understanding of the use of digital and social media platforms to drive the success of community fundraising initiatives and communication consistency, marketing and planning.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Prior experience building stakeholder engagement and/or high-level networking to advance community engagement
- Proven ability to work autonomously, show initiative and identify new strategic opportunities which are proposed and agreed by the executive
- Ability to communicate about death and dying, wellness and an understanding of the complexities of working in the field
- Computer literacy – Microsoft Office suite and clinical electronic databases.
- Ability to develop effective relationships and work within a team environment, delivering collaborative outcomes
