About the role and you:
Leading a clinical team of Specialist Palliative Support Clinicians, you are experienced in working in an interdisciplinary team, have knowledge of current loss, grief and bereavement theory and practice, experience in Palliative Care or a similar community health setting and are experienced with issues associated with death and dying.
Working closely with a Clinical Nursing Leader (Clinical Nurse Consultant) and reporting to the General Manager-Allied Health and Volunteer Services, the Allied Health Leader will provide clinical leadership, case-load supervision and mentoring to all Allied Health Workers within the team and includes the provision of discipline specific psycho-social support, counselling and spiritual care to clients and their carers within an interdisciplinary team model.
Working closely with other geographic Allied Health Leaders to ensure accurate prioritisation of clients and excellence in client care and support, your previous experience in a leadership position that includes the provision of clinical supervision, will ensure you will positively lead this team and provide mentoring and guidance to colleagues.
Selection Criteria
We are looking for a Clinical team Leader who:
- Holds a mandatory relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work or Psychology/Counselling.
- Has demonstrated capability, including a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a leadership position that includes the provision of clinical supervision.
- Has experience and skills in the leadership and supervision of a multi-disciplinary care team and are able to lead workplace culture and change management where required.
- Has a membership or is eligible for registration to relevant professional bodies.
- Is an experienced communicator with competent oral and written communication skills, report writing and presentation skills.
- Has highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills, emotionally attuned leadership and is experienced in the provision of coaching and mentoring.
- Has knowledge of the Value Based Healthcare framework and principles.
